"Coochie" is only 1 kilometre from the mainland. It's only accessible by ferry from Victoria Point in Redland City. You can actually walk around this very picturesque island. There is a fabulous family friendly beach beside the jetty. Coochiemudlo means "red rock" and this is what you can see in the middle of this image. There is a cliff face of red soil and rocks and it is clearly visible from the mainland. I count myself lucky to live in such a wonderful city with scenery like this right on my doorstep.
I needed a new mangrove after my favourite mangrove tree died, hopefully this one will last a little longer
