Cleveland
Read MoreThis past weekend was a weekend filled with nasty storms. 2 of these storms were called super cells. This one was taken on Sunday heading straight for the northern suburbs of Brisbane. It brought with it hail stones the size of golf balls and even larger in some places. It was also a king tide and I must say that I have never seen the water so high around this old jetty. ps if you look closely there is a pelican at the end of the pylons. He just sat there taking it all in :)
The air was thick with smoke as I headed to Cleveland Point this particular afternoon. It was due to the terrible fires on North Stradbroke Island that were burning for over a week. The smoke in the air made for a pretty picture and I was lucky that this pelican was obliging. © 2014 Beth Wode Photography - All rights reserved
CL 48 The Lighthouse & the Sunrays
It was a beautiful almost balmy evening in Cleveland last night. The sunset colours were strong and beautiful due to a scrub fire that was burning towards the city somewhere.
South East Queensland has been hammered by vicious storms all weekend. This one was to the north over Caboolture and Bribie Island this afternoon. Some areas have had hail the size of golf balls. We have had no hail here in Cleveland but we have had torrential rain. My gutters couldnt cope and I woke this morning to find water in my house. Thankfully we have had no damage.

CL 42 The Clouds & the Lighthouse
It was such a weird afternoon here in Brisbane yesterday. these storms rolled through unexpectedly bringing heavy rain to Brisbane and tennis ball hail to chinchilla on the Darling Downs. The skies after the storm went through were just amazing. I believe that these are mammatus clouds.
CL 47 Two Boats, a Tree & a Sunrise
What a stunning sunrise we had through the week. I didn't have a lot of time as I had an early start at work but I quickly headed down to Cleveland and got a couple of shot before bolting home to get ready for the day ahead.
